Lackeby Roto-Sieve Drum screens installed at Pollestre WWTP, France

By the installation of the second Lackeby Roto-Sieve Drum screen RS 24, the Kubota membranes are now well protected for a long time ahead.

The function of the Lackeby Roto-Sieve Drum screen in this application, is to remove screenings from the wastewater to protect the sensitive membranes. Even though the upstream pre-treatment equipment consists of a mechanical bar screen with slot width 6,0 mm, the drum screens still removes approximately 10 tons of screenings per year, which has a significant impact of the membrane’s life span.

We are of course very proud for the continuous trust, to serve and protect the plant and especially by delivering Lackeby Roto-Sieve No. 5000 and 5001 for this noble cause.

Some projects are more special than others

Like this one, a couple of months ago when we had the pleasure of delivering two Lackeby Roto-Sieve Drum screens RS 24 to Pollestre WWTP in the south of France. The wastewater treatment plant serves about 10 000 people and were replacing their Kubota membranes after 10 years of use. Even though their existing Roto-Sieves has a predicted lifetime of over 20 years, they were replaced as well due to local regulations.

With Lackeby Products celebrating 85 years in 2020, I would like to take this opportunity to share some of the company’s history and where we see ourselves today.

Customer focus, confidence in our employees, curiosity and innovation are the principles that form the core of our operations. Although there may have been moments when we lost focus somewhat, we have never forgotten these core guiding principles and have always found our way back to them.

85 years ago, in 1935 to be exact, Läckeby Rörledningsaffär was founded by my grandfather, Martin Axelsson. At that time, the company mainly worked with plumbing installations. When my father, Kjell Axelsson, and his older brother Stig took over the company in 1967, the focus shifted more and more into pumping stations and water purification. This was the time when the product manufacturing started, and the successful story of the Roto-Sieve Drum screen begins. The Roto-Sieve has proven itself to be a superior and reliable solution for separation needs in various applications worldwide and a strong brand that we are proud to manage.

The company constellations and ownership forms have varied over the years, but the Axelsson family has always been involved – both as owner and in the operations.

Our aim has always been to deliver the right product to the right price and to help our customers find the optimal solution for their specific project. Thanks to our vast experience with the products and their related processes, our customers can always feel confident to rely on Lackeby as a caring and competent supplier.

As a third generation Axelsson, managing Lackeby Products with its history, heritage and, above all, its talented employees instils in me a sense of pride and humility. New Marketing- & Sales Director

I am pleased to announce that Daniel Lindström has accepted to become our new Marketing – & Sales Manager. This is a solution that I believe in very much, and the response from our employees about this development has been very positive.
Daniel has worked with us in sales since 2010, starting in ConPura and now wants the responsibility to lead and further develop an already very well-functioning sales organization.
Our next step is to hire more salespersons to ensure best possible support for all our customers.

Expanded capacity in Lackeby’s state-of-the-art pickling facility

In our quest to be able to offer customers pickling of stainless-steel products of the highest quality with minimal environmental impact, we have now completed the upgrade of our pickling plant.

With the large open tank of 9×1.8×1.8m we can offer efficient dipping of larger objects. There is also the possibility of spraying very large objects, where only the gate of 4.75×5.25m sets the limits.

The facility is upgraded according to the latest technology for the best working environment and minimum environmental impact.

Operations Director Daniel Eriksson explains: “All the wash water from the pickling is purified via vacuum evaporation in our own treatment plant, which is a closed system. The plant is also equipped with automatic enclosure protection that closes in the event of leakage to avoid any risk of emissions. “
